“My abstract series were an evolution of sketchbook studies. Sketching and painting plein air became less about the outcome of the image and more about enjoying the present, moving away from my camera and technology.
Using collage became a way to replicate natural lines and layers in the scenes I was surrounded by, whether that be rock formations, fallen leaves layered on top of one another or ripples on the surface of water."
